About media Wiki

In July 2007, this wiki was initially installed by Lun Li at CDS & Netlab, Caltech. The wiki pages were initally set up by Prof J Doyle, Lun Li, Hana (from Netlab) with assistance from CDS and Lachlan Andrew from Netlab.

This wiki is to document Prof. J. C. Doyle & his groups's research activities.

Editing tips for Wiki

SysOps / Wiki admin tips

  • Editing common CSS definitions, see notes on MediaWiki:Common.css
  • The sidebar can be edited at MediaWiki:Sidebar.

  • To change an Infobox template, create a page in the Template: namespace.
  • Redirect page to another page:

On "Old wiki page" type in #Redirect [[New page link ]]

  • Admin file permissions

To view instructions on changing file permissions on Unix, type in "man chmod" on the Linux command line. Admin can choose which files are w= writable, R=readable etc by admin or group. If in doubt ask Lun or CDS sysadmin.

  • Admin creating accounts:
  • To Do lists items to be updated by end of Sept 2007!
    • Instructions for removing 'edit' tabs for users not logged in![1]

To install software to create thumbnails on this mwiki,

  ...\mwiki\localsettings.php 
  • ensure the ImageMagick version that you choose to download is compatible with version listed above
  • create folder "ImageMagick" on CDS server
  • onto this ImageMagick folder, download ImageMagick

Add Images

was edited to enable file uploading from the Toolbox on the Sidebar.
